We take spam very seriously and have configured the mail server to reject spam from known sources using Realtime Block Lists (RBLs). Spammers still exploit new servers elsewhere to send spam therefore this anti-spam measures are not 100%. It catches 60 to 70% spam and blocks it from reaching the servers. We use RBLs very carefully to block these known spam havens. Apart from that the mail server when receiving emails also uses certain anti-spam rules to block spammers.
There are a number of ways you can also reduce spam from reaching your account. First make sure that you are not using Default Address to catch unwanted emails. Second you can use some email filtering rules. And thirdly you can using SpamAssassin to fine tune spam filtering. Please click on the links in this paragraph that will take you to tutorials on how to use each feature to take control of your mailbox. If you need further help, let us know.
